Now that the other film-awards ceremony is over, it's time to focus on the show that truly measures excellence in filmmaking -- the MTV Movie Awards!
The nominees for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards were announced on Tuesday, with Quentin Tarantino's slavery drama "Django Unchained," Seth MacFarlane's teddy-bear comedy "Ted," David O. Russell's "Silver Linings Playbook" and the Batman epic "The Dark Knight Rises" leading the charge.
"Django" and "Ted" are both at the top of the heap with seven nominations each, with "Silver Linings Playbook" scoring six nominations and "Dark Knight Rises" pulling five nominations.
Broken down by studio, Universal (home of "Ted") is at the head of the pack with 14 nominations.
This year's ceremony is marked by two new categories -- Best Shirtless Performance (which finds Channing Tatum, Taylor Lautner, Daniel Craig and Christian Bale facing off against "Ted"'s titular bear) and "Best Musical Moment," in which "Les Miserables," "Magic Mike," "Pitch Perfect," "Silver Linings Playbook" and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" will vie for dominance.
